People of all ages and especially seniors have discovered a new place for social interaction and fun in their local arcades. Adult Arcades house dozens of different machines which operate on penny credits, similar to those tokens used in children’s arcades, i.e. Chuckee Cheese’s or Boomers. It is basically designed as an “Arcade for Grown-Ups”, and anyone who is twenty-one or older is welcome to come in and play the machines. Similarly, when the player is successful in a game, points are then awarded to the player and redeemable at the counter for things like local Merchant Gift Certificates, Household Items, Gift Cards, and/or Personal Accessories.

Penny Arcades have become a safe-haven and a second home to many local seniors, offering them not only a way to pass the time, but to actually enjoy themselves. Now, instead of sitting home alone and watching television, they have a place to go, where they can meet people their own age, and have conversation, nutritious meals, and mental stimulation for a few pennies per game.
